
The death toll from Monday’s bus crash in the Eastern Cape has risen to 29. It’s believed the driver lost control of the bus on a gravel road before it rolled down an embankment.
The bus was transporting pensioners and children. It is also alleged the driver was speeding and the vehicle was overloaded. Nearly 70 other people were injured in the crash.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has urged Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula to find the cause of the crash. Ramaphosa also ordered the provincial government, to assist affected families.
