Fire breaks out at Durban hospital
There’s been yet another hospital fire and this time, it’s the Chatsmead Gardens Life Hospital, in Durban, that caught fire overnight.
It’s understood the fire started in one of the wards, resulting in the evacuation of patients and hospital staff.
No injuries have been reported so far, but there’s considerable damage to infrastructure.
It’s been confirmed that multiple patients have been moved to other facilities, including one critical patient who was airlifted to another hospital.
The fire has been extinguished and investigations are underway into the cause of the fire.
