KwaZulu-Natal: At 16H09 Friday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a serious collision on the M25 Kwa Mashu, North of Durban.
Reports from the scene indicate that two light motor vehicles were involved in a collision resulting in one of the vehicles coming to rest on its side next to a concrete barrier.
Medics assessed the scene and found that one person an adult female passenger had sustained fatal injuries, the driver had sustained serious injuries.
The condition of the occupants from the second vehicle is unknown as they were transported prior to the arrival of emergency services.
Due to the injuries, the adult male patient had sustained the Netcare 5 specialised helicopter ambulance was activated to airlift him to a specialised hospital for further treatment.

Wing Kotaro Matsushima scored a hat-trick as hosts Japan got their World Cup campaign underway with a 30-10 victory against Russia. Russia took an early lead through wing Kirill Golosnitskiy, but Matsushima replied for the hosts.
He grabbed his second to put Japan ahead just before half-time and Pieter Labuschagne broke away to add another after the break. Matsushima then ran through to claim a four-try bonus point for his side. read more
