Police say they have seized R300 million worth of drugs in Fourways, north of Johannesburg and have rescued a kidnapped businessman. The South African Police Services (SAPS) says in a short statement that the scene is still active.

National Police Spokesperson, Brigadier, Athlenda Mathe says this is a culmination of a kidnapping case they have been working on: “On the the 5th of July, we had a businessman who was kidnapped in the Roodepoort area. A team was immediately assembled and started working on this particular case to rescue the victim.

A week ago, we arrested two suspects. The suspects then led us to the drug bust where we arrested six more suspects on Wednesday. We also made a discovery of drugs (crystal meth) worth an estimated street value of R300 million. So, we picked up the drugs from various parts of Johannesburg.
