Driver ejected from vehicle in head-on collision

KwaZulu-Natal: At 18H51 Tuesday evening, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on Marine Drive in Shelly Beach on the KZN South Coast. Reports indicate that a bakkie and SUV were involved in a head-on collision.

Medics assessed the scene and found that the driver, an adult male, had been ejected in the collision and was found to have sustained serious injuries. The driver of the SUV escaped injury.

The bakkie driver was treated on scene by advanced life support paramedics and once stabilised was transported by ambulance to the hospital for further care.

Circumstances leading up to the incident will be investigated by the relevant authorities who were on the scene.
