The Correctional Services Department has confirmed that disgraced celebrity doctor, Nandipha Magudumana, was the victim of an assault by a fellow inmate at the weekend.
Magudumana, who is an awaiting trial inmate at Kroonstad Prison, was pushed into the grills following an altercation with two other inmates.
The mother of two is said to have sustained physical injuries.
Department spokesperson, Singabakho Nxumalo, said there was a prayer meeting being held in a different cell from Magudamana’s when the incident took place.
“DCS officials advised Nandipha Magudumana to open a criminal case when she reported that she was allegedly assaulted, but she opted to discuss it with her lawyers first. Furthermore, DCS healthcare officials conducted an examination on her and found no visible injuries.”
