Don’t wait 24 hours to file report for Missing child

It’s a common misconception, but you don’t have to wait 24 hours before reporting a child missing. Missing Children SA says parents should know what to do and what they should expect from police.
“The last few years, especially on children’s cases, we’ve seen a massive turnaround of children being found quick and safer when FCS unit is involved,” said Bianca van Aswegen.
“Unfortunately we still get those cases where police are telling the family to wait 24 hours before reporting a case. That does not exist, there’s no waiting period of reporting a child or adult as missing in our country.”
