Dlamini-Zuma speaks on eThekwini leadership crisis

Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma says government would rather work to strengthen municipalities and give them support.
The minister has responded to opposition calls to place the troubled eThekwini municipality under administration.
Dlamini-Zuma has declined to comment on embattled eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede’s situation but she’s challenged the acting mayor to steer the city in the right direction.
“There is an acting and we expect that work should continue, we expect that services must be delivered and we expect that at some stage whatever issues are with the mayor will be dealt by the judiciary and the ANC so we are just here as government to look at the city and how we can strengthen it,” Dlamini-Zuma said.
