DJ Merlon falls on hard times amid Covid-19 pandemic

The Covid-19 pandemic hit the pockets of many artists hard.
DJ Merlon, whose real name is Sibusiso Mhlongo, is one of the artists affected by the pandemic.
He said that due to the impact of the virus, he’s been battling depression. He said it caused a downfall in his music career.
“Covid-19 came and lockdown happened with tight restrictions. That affected my music because there were no gigs. It was hard to promote music.
“That caused a strain in my health that I ended up having depression. But I’m dealing with it. I hope I will beat this thing,” said Merlon.
The Koze Kuse hitmaker said he had planned to release two albums this year, but things fell apart.
“Things did not go according to my plans. Now I’ll have to release one album in the first week of October. I decided to give it the title Bigger Picture because I want music fans to review music in a bigger picture. Music heals more than entertaining. I’ll soon release the first song titled Umama featuring Xolisile Bongwana,” said Merlon.
