Film & Event Media is a growing publishing house servicing the trade industries in the film and television, business events, and culinary world, among other sectors. The company is looking to employ a full-time/permanent Digital Co-ordinator for an exciting new online venture, as well as the digital assets of a trade magazine that serves the South African food industry. Their role will be to not only manage the company’s digital assets across these two platforms but also to create long term strategies and marketing plans in order to grow and solidify the company’s place in the digital space.

Job Description

Driving social media and other digital initiatives to create followers in producing a product to reach a specific client base
Contacting prospective clients
Supporting the sales team in producing leads and new clientele
Writing, copy editing and content development for said platforms
Driving awareness to all social media platforms
Uploading content onto magazine website and online application
Liaising between client and sales to creatively solve problems and produce ROI
Driving marketing initiatives according to strategies and overall company goals
Reviews of products and restaurants
Chef reviews and interviews
Engaging with various elements and stakeholders of the food industry
Troubleshooting issues on digital platforms and liaising with the development team to ensure requests are met and tasks completed
Manage all newsletters, campaigns, advertising and content pertaining to digital platforms
Assist in digital coverage at events, live social media coverage, creating a strong presence for the product(s) in the industry
Creating measurable weekly, monthly and annual growth strategies for digital platforms
Reporting weekly on goals, tasks and digital platform growth to head(s) of department

Requirements

A qualification or experience in advertising, communications, marketing, journalism or related field
An interest or in-depth understanding of the local and international food industry
Impeccable understanding of the English language in order to compose, check and post content on a variety of levels
Ability to work quickly and to strict deadlines and targets
Adobe Photoshop and InDesign advantageous
A motivated self-starter who can take initiative and ownership of projects and run with it
Dynamic and creative thinker who can solve problems, collaborate within a team of people and move this arm of the business forward
Understanding on smartphone application management, SEO, WordPress and MailChimp advantageous
