Diepsloot CPF criticises law enforcement’s failure to combat crime as promised

The Diepsloot Community Policing Forum (CPF) has criticized law enforcement officials for failing to keep promises they had made to combat crime in the community.
The police station’s management appeared before the Gauteng Legislature’s Safety Committee on Friday to provide an update on safety measures put in place to deal with the criminality in the area.
The CPF said while police had committed to engaging them regularly, they failed to join the monthly meetings meant to address their challenges.
Chairperson John Makola said this contributes to the continued high levels of crime in the area.
“We’ve got our monthly meetings, here in the police station, JMPD [Johannesburg Metro Police Department] we have two superintendents that are part of our WhatsApp group. They don’t attend,” he said adding that no apologies were made.
