Diepsloot community calls on govt interventions in fight against crime

The community of Diepsloot took to the streets over the escalation of crime in the area. The disgruntled residents are marching to City of Joburg and SAPS offices to demand answers.
They say the community has been forgotten. One of the community leaders shared that residents have been communicating with government and police stakeholders with little change to the situation.
“Our people are complaining to us, and saying to us while you are having these engagements with the Union Buildings, whereby we are seeking a permanent solution, our people are dying on the ground,” said Loyiso Toyiya.
We still have a police (service) that must take responsibility of our safety while we are engaging with the Presidency. The protestors will present a memorandum to the Provincial Commissioner of Police.
