Diepsloot calm after Thursday’s protest

Police are monitoring Diepsloot Friday after residents took to the streets on Thursday. The residents built barricades on the main road leading into the area and threw bottles and rocks at cars.

They allege two community members and a police officer have been killed in the area by foreign nationals.

Police are still on high alert on Friday, monitoring the area for unrest and traffic has been moving slowly through the rubble littering the streets.
