Special task team arrives in Diepsloot

A special operations team has been deployed to Diepsloot to help tackle the high crime rate in the area. Police Minister Bheki Cele made the promise to residents, after meeting them last Friday.

Cele addressed angry residents together with Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi, amid tensions over safety concerns.

Local residents also alleged that undocumented migrants were responsible for crime in the area.

The newly-deployed team will assist police in the area.
