The NICD said 4,215 new coronavirus cases were recorded in the past 24 hours and 311 people succumbed to the virus.
The Western Cape continues to be the province with the highest number of new infections followed by the Eastern Cape.
Gauteng recorded 406 new infections.
Over 45,000 tests were conducted since the last report with a positivity rate of 9.3 percent.
