Authorities have raised the alarm over a massive spike in deadly crashes these holidays so far.
Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula released the latest road safety stats to reporters outside Pretoria on Wednesday.
Mbalula said many fatal crashes occur late at night and in the early hours of the morning and police will be deployed in the later hours to address this trend.
He also said traffic officials have held numerous roadblocks, nabbing hundreds of errant motorists.
