Purpose
The Data Capturer is responsible to assist Department of Health facilities with data capturing and data management activities. To support the capturing, verification and reporting of TIER.Net/ETR/DHIS data at supported Health Facilities, with a specific focus on TB data. Ensure that all TB data is up to date and that any defaulters are identified and reported to THC and facility staff responsible for tracking and tracing of patients.
Minimum requirements:
Minimum requirement of a Matriculation exemption is a tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
Trained on TIER.Net software and/or previous experience with TIER.Net data capturing and reporting.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in working with DoH data/M&E systems (from patient-record level to DHIS level);
Ability to communicate in English, IsiXhosa, IsiZulu or Afrikaans
A valid driver’s license
Proficiency in Microsoft packages
Key Performance Areas
Support facilities to ensure all relevant data is accurately captured into health information systems e.g. DHIS, ETR, Sinjani, PERMIS, TIER.Net
Ensure facility generates daily, weekly and monthly TIER.Net line list reports
Collect and verify data against facility weekly tally books to ensure data quality
Interact with colleagues and project management to ensure fulfillment of project objectives
Interact with Department of Health and THC staff to capture relevant subject-related information
Ensure that weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports are submitted on time
Filing and administrative duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of HIV/AIDS
Experience in data collection and capturing
Experience with data capturing or collection within the public health sector will be advantageous.
Familiarity with the public health sector and District Health System will be advantageous
Previous exposure within a NGO/NPO environment
Knowledge of cancer would be advantageous
Good knowledge of health programme data and information management
Strong Microsoft Office proficiency
Good understanding of data management systems
Attention to detail, good time management and monitoring skills
