South African DJ, content creator, and social media personality Cyan Boujee is once again making headlines after losing another TikTok account—this time one that had nearly 400,000 followers. The 23-year-old star, whose real name is Honour Zuma, took to her Instagram Stories on Friday to share the news with her fans, revealing that her account had been removed from the platform without any warning.
In a series of emotional posts, Cyan Boujee expressed disappointment but also hinted that she may be ready to move on from TikTok for good. The influencer said she was heartbroken by the sudden suspension, especially since she was on the verge of reaching a major milestone.
“I know you guys love me, and I love you guys so much too, but there are people that don’t love me, and because of that, I got banned again on TikTok,” she wrote.
“I don’t have TikTok anymore. I was about to reach 400k followers, but the enemy won this time.”
Despite the frustration, Cyan tried to remain optimistic, suggesting that the ban might be a sign for her to explore new opportunities outside of the app.
“I guess maybe my content was too premium, and this is a sign that I should maybe focus on other stuff,” she added, seemingly unfazed by the setback.
Cyan Boujee and Her History of TikTok Bans
This isn’t the first time Cyan Boujee has faced trouble with the video-sharing platform. Earlier this year, her main TikTok account—with an impressive 1.7 million followers—was permanently banned following a wave of controversy. The suspension came shortly after she was criticized for promoting the Alabuga Start Russian programme, a campaign that many users found problematic and politically sensitive.
At the time, Cyan’s involvement in the campaign sparked backlash both locally and internationally, with many accusing her of being tone-deaf. The incident not only cost her a major digital platform but also affected her reputation.
In a candid interview on the L-Tido Podcast, Cyan reflected on how that experience changed her life and affected her mental health.
“I lost a lot. I lost some dignity. I have a lot of anxiety. I lost my TikTok account. This is a huge learning curve for me,” she shared.
“But more than anything, I’m a victim. Even if I’m sorry for not doing my homework and not being able to represent myself properly in the situation, I still believe I’m a victim.”
The influencer also revealed that the controversy didn’t just impact her personally—it extended to her team and family.
“It was bad for everyone—my team, my family. Everyone received backlash, not just me,” she said.
After news of her latest account loss broke, fans flooded social media with messages of support. Many praised Cyan Boujee for her resilience and ability to stay confident despite constant criticism. Some even suggested that she start her own content platform or move to YouTube, where she can have greater creative control.
“Cyan Boujee keeps getting banned because she’s too real for TikTok,” one fan commented on X (formerly Twitter). Another wrote, “She’s a fighter. Every time they try to silence her, she comes back stronger.”
Others, however, speculated that her bans might be linked to her bold content style and outspoken nature. Cyan Boujee is well-known for her unapologetic attitude, glamorous lifestyle, and occasional social media feuds—traits that make her both loved and criticized online.
With two major TikTok bans in less than a year, many are wondering what’s next for Cyan Boujee. The influencer, who has built a brand around music, fashion, and digital influence, might be ready to expand beyond social media. Her statement about focusing on “other stuff” suggests that she could be looking into new business ventures, DJ gigs, or content creation on other platforms such as Instagram Reels or YouTube.
Despite her challenges, Cyan Boujee remains one of South Africa’s most talked-about online personalities. Her journey—from viral social media star to controversial public figure—has been marked by both success and scandal. Yet, her loyal fan base continues to support her, praising her for her confidence and resilience in an often unforgiving digital space.
While losing her TikTok account is another blow, it’s clear that Cyan Boujee is determined to keep moving forward. Whether she returns to the platform or shifts her focus entirely, one thing is certain—Cyan knows how to turn setbacks into comebacks.
In her own words, “The enemy might have won this time,” but judging by her track record, Cyan Boujee is far from done.
