Tshwane to continue cutting power for defaulters

Residential estates are next on the City of Tshwane’s hotlist. It’s been cutting off power supply for default customers. The city said it will continue disconnecting businesses and other government agencies owing money.

The City of Tshwane’s Jordan Griffiths said, “our intention is to continue with disconnections next week and the comings weeks.it will be targeting residential estates, businesses, and other government agencies…..

“What we will also do is mop-up operations in areas we have been too: the recurring issue is that people reconnect the areas illegally….what we also do is introduce rip connections, if you have tempered with infrastructure is that we rip out your entire electricity box so you do not reconnect. We will be doing a bit of that in the coming week.”
