President Ramaphosa urges SA to adopt UDF’s culture of community

As it celebrates its 40th anniversary, the anti-apartheid movement — the United Democratic Front has vowed to shift its focus from politics to working with communities.

During his speech at the commemorations in Johannesburg, President Cyril Ramaphosa reiterated the importance of community activism.

“One of the lessons that we can draw from the UDF is community activism, community engagement, and being proactive. Finding solutions and crafting solutions so that our people can lead a better life.”

The UDF was made up of over 400 organizations who took a stand against apartheid.
