COVID-19: SA reports 24 deaths, 1,622 new infections

The health department reported 1,622 new COVID-19 cases in South Africa in the last 24 hours.
This brings the total number of cases to 715,868. There have been 24 additional COVID-19 deaths recorded, although only 20 of these occurred in the past 48 hours.
South Africa’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 18,968. Recoveries currently stand at 646,170, which translates to a 90.3% recovery rate.
