COVID-19 in SA: 22,391 new cases, 22 deaths recorded

South Africa’s Covid-19 numbers have sky-rocketed once again. The NICD recorded 22,391 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Gauteng still leads the surge, with 11,791 new infections. It’s followed by KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape with more than 2,000 each.
The positivity rate has increased to 29.8 percent. Sadly, 22 more people have died, taking the death toll to 90,060.
