COVID-19 in SA: 1,504 new cases, 42 deaths recorded

The NICD said 1,504 new COVID-19 cases and 42 deaths have been confirmed in the last 24 hours. It said 86,216 people have succumbed to the virus, while over 2.8 million people have contracted the virus.
KwaZulu-Natal is leading with 391 new cases, followed by the Northern Cape with 338 cases. Over 21,000 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate stands at 7 percent.
