About 30 COVID-19 cases reported at Fort Hare

COVID-19

COVID-19 experts have been warning about superspreader events.

But, these events continue to be held.

The University of Fort Hare has recorded nearly 30 COVID-19 cases after two parties.

About 300 people were at the party where safety precautions were not followed.

That was followed by another party on 10 October.

The positive students are currently in isolation at the Alice Campus.

Two of them returned home to Mount Fletcher and Reston.

Tracing teams are now racing to track and contain them.
