Zandile Gumede corruption trial adjourned after attack at witness’s home

The corruption trial of former eThekwini mayor, Zandile Gumede and 21 others has been adjourned after an attack at the home of a witness over the weekend.

The witness was meant to testify today but is no longer comfortable doing so.

Gumede, municipal manager Sipho Nzuza, and some members of the City’s procurement department are facing charges related to a 2016 Durban Solid Waste tender, valued at over R300-million.
