Mantashe & mining companies meet over Coronavirus measures

All lectures and assessments have been suspended at the main campus in Stellenbosch since Tuesday.
Stellenbosch University said faculty management at its Tygerberg Campus had taken all the necessary precautions to ensure its facilities were safe amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
The institution on Thursday confirmed its first case of COVID-19 with a staff member testing positive.
The person – who is based at the Tygerberg Campus – had recently travelled abroad.
The university said the staff member was currently in self-isolation.
The institution said people who had been in close contact with the patient had been identified and health authorities were in the process of contacting them.
All lectures and assessments have been suspended at the main campus in Stellenbosch since Tuesday.
UWC on Thursday closed its campus after a staff member who recently returned from abroad tested positive.
At the same time, UCT has confirmed its second case, adding that the building where the infected staff member worked had been closed.
Lectures have also been suspended at CPUT and staff members have been instructed to continue their work off-campus.
