COVID-19: President Cyril Ramaphosa consulting with political parties

President Cyril Ramaphosa is meeting with political parties on Wednesday to discuss the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Matters related to the national lockdown will also be discussed. This virtual meeting is the third consultative meeting that the president is holding with political party leaders.

This comes as the Democratic Alliance and the Freedom Front Plus both announced that they would be lodging legal challenges against some of the lockdown regulations. The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa has increased to 17,200.
