Job description

A well-established and growing site services/construction firm in Cape Town is looking for the services of a highly competent and dynamic Construction Site Agent.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Effectively coordinate site activity from site establishment to completion as well as commencement and duration of work related to various trades in accordance with the programme of works.
• Ensure the commercial performance of the contract on all assigned sites is maximized.
• Write site reports, interpret drawings, and ensure all other necessary site documentation is available and up to date.
• Plan and determine material requirements.
• Set and enforce standards for each job taking place on-site and ensure sub-contractors/crews follow proper safety guidelines.
• Ensure projects remain profitable by overseeing budgets throughout the construction/implementation process.
• Accompany clients/consultants during site visits, answer questions about the project’s overall progress and communicate changes.
• Work closely with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure projects are delivered to specified quality and without defects.
• Remain abreast with the latest developments, trends, and products in the construction industry.
• Measure and price jobs for estimates.
• Determine Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and materials.
• Attend site meetings.
• Perform site visits to assess and monitor progress.
• Prepare work schedule programmes.
• Analyze completed work & authorize sub-contractor’s payments.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Compile and submit Weekly, Monthly & Project based Reports.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or National Diploma in Building/Construction Management.
• 5 years+ proven work experience as a Site Agent or related field.
• Sound knowledge of the construction/built environment.
• Strong PC literacy skills – fully competent in MS Office Suite (Word/ Excel/ Outlook, etc.)
• Valid SA Driver’s license.
• Prepared to travel nationally.
• Project management knowledge and skills.

REMUNERATION:

• Basic Salary – Market-related and dependent on experience R12 000 to R16000 per month (CTC).
• Fixed Term Contract – Probation Period of 2 to 3 months.
• Company Cell phone.
• Company Car (during the day only for business trips).
• Hours of work: 07:30 am to 17:00 pm – Monday to Friday.
