5 arrested for construction mafia activities in uMsunduzi

Five people suspected of intimidation and disturbing a construction site at uMsunduzi in KZN on Saturday have been arrested.

The suspects were arrested by the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Reaction Task Team established to curb construction mafia-related activities.

KZN police spokesperson, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, said police responded to reports of a group of people who were disturbing activities at a construction site where a bridge is under construction in uMsunduzi.

“On arrival at the scene, police arrested the five suspects and were duly charged for intimidation as well as the disturbance of a construction site.

“The five suspects, aged between 28 and 44 years old, will appear in the Camperdown Magistrate’s Court on Monday,” said Netshiunda.
