Concerns Mpumalanga is smuggling hub for human trafficking

Many human trafficking cases are not reported, and this limits law enforcement action. The Human Rights Commission says even when it is reported very little is done to follow up on it.

It believes police alone can’t deal with the scourge. The commission has been looking into human trafficking in Mpumalanga.

The province is believed to be a hub due to its proximity to the country’s neighbours.
