Police Minister Bheki Cele has urged greater cooperation between the SAPS and communities. He was speaking at the opening of the police and prisons union Popcru’s central executive committee meeting in the East Rand on Thursday.
Cele praised the police for how they worked with the public to protect infrastructure during the recent riots.
He also used the opportunity to speak out against gender-based violence.
