Collen Malatji elected new ANCYL president

The ANC Youth League has elected its new leadership at its national conference in Johannesburg. Collen Malatji was elected unopposed as president. Phumzile Mgcina will be the league’s first female deputy president. Mntuwoxolo Ngudle was elected Secretary General with Tsakani Shiviti serving as his deputy.

The conference resolved to have a second deputy secretary general, electing Olga Seate to the post and taking the number of leaders to six. Zwelo Masilela will serve as the ANC Youth Leagues treasurer general.

It’s the league’s first conference in nearly eight years. ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to deliver closing remarks at the conference.
