Clement Maosa’s comments on youth land him in hot soup. “There’s this sense that people should be given things in their lap,” he was quoted as saying during an interview.

“I think it’s across the board, where young people sometimes think they’re owed something or that it should be given to them. But you have to work for it.” These were Clement’s comments and the public didn’t take them well.

Skeem Saam actor Clement Maosa said the youth must get over their entitlement and find work! But it appears the comments made by Clement, who plays Kwaito on the SABC1 soapie, did not go down well with the public.

Lebogang Lasekgoto said it was easy for Clement to speak like this as he had a job. “Start working where? When we apply for jobs our CVs are thrown away,” she said. Patricia Raisibe warned him not to look down on people.

Noluthando Dlamini said: “Many graduates are sitting at home, not because they’re lazy but because jobs are scarce and, as we speak, there are youths with brilliant business ideas which can change the economy. But they don’t have the resources.

“Just because life is good for him doesn’t make others lazy.” Daily Sun tried to get a comment from Clement yesterday, but his cellphone rang unanswered.
