Civil Engineering Technologist / Technician wanted: APPLY HERE

Seeking a Civil Engineering Technologist / Technician for our client’s office in East London.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

At least a National Diploma in Civil Engineering
Registration with ECSA as a Professional Technician will be advantageous;
Efficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D (essential), Microsoft Office Suite, Bill (preferable);
At least 5 years’ post qualification experience in the design of civil engineering services, especially residential and commercial developments;
Must be an effective communicator (personal, phone, writing, email; etc);

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Own Vehicle
Valid Driver’s Licence

Design of civil engineering services;

Assistance with preparation of drawings (preliminary design, tender, construction, close-out);
Part-time construction monitoring and review of contractors Quality Control Plans and Construction Method Statements;
Handling of technical queries and resolutions in conjunction with the Engineer;
Works inspections and construction materials approvals;
Keeping of detailed records of all construction related activities including inspection records, request for information, design changes, non-conformances, lab results etc;
Independent checks of tests and surveys;
Review of as-built information and updating of drawings;
Attendance of technical or contractual site meetings;
Drafting of minutes and distribution thereof;

Communicate frequently with Employer’s Agent / Engineer and clients;
Assist with project safety and environmental matters;
