CityPowerJhb Struggling To Fix Roodepoort Power Outage For Two Days

City Power Johannesburg @CityPowerJhb is a subsidiary of the City of Johannesburg and provides electricity services to the residents and businesses of Johannesburg, however, this has not been the case for residents of Roodepoort.

It’s been nearly 48 hours with some parts of Roodepoort completely in the dark because of unscheduled power cuts or should we say cable faults. The company is committed to providing reliable and efficient energy services to its customers but some of these areas will argue how reliable is City Power Jhb if cable faults take more than two days to fix.

Residents of Wilgeheuwel, Weltevreden Park, Allen’s Nek and surroundings have run out of options with Generators on in some of the streets trying to keep lights and Fridges on to maintain food storage.

City power Roodepoort Outage Update

This has been the latest update which looks exactly like the rest of the updates that were posted by @CityPowerJhb’s Twitter account yesterday.

Residents are now worried about Monday coming with kids preparing for school in the dark with uniforms not ironed and worst of all the scheduled load shedding stage 3 which will leave most of these areas out of power by 6:00 am.

CityPowerJhb was established in 2000 and has since become one of the largest electricity distributors in South Africa, serving over 1 million customers. The company is responsible for the distribution of electricity, maintenance of the power grid, and ensuring that customers have access to electricity 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is becoming a problem with the on and off of the national load-shedding schedule.

CityPowerJhb is committed to providing affordable electricity services to its customers, and offers a range of payment options, including prepaid and postpaid options, to make it easier for customers to manage their electricity consumption and costs.

In addition to its core electricity services, CityPowerJhb also provides a range of customer support services, including online account management, billing and payment options, and 24-hour customer support. The company also provides information and resources to help customers understand and manage their energy consumption, including tips on energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy.

While all this might be the best for its paying customers, when there is no load shedding customers needs to see their lights on and be able to cook and shower with warm water instead of geysers that haven’t been on for two days now.
