Court overturns the decision to place City of Tshwane under administration

The High Court in Pretoria has overturned the decision to place the city of Tshwane under administration. The Democratic Alliance challenged the decision in court in March.
This after Gauteng Executive Council, led by Premier David Makhura decided to invoke section 139 of the constitution, following the collapse of several council meetings.
The party says the move by ANC MEC Lebogang Maile was politically motivated. Tshwane has been embroiled for months in ongoing political battles centred around the control of the city.
