NICD monitoring high-risk areas following cholera outbreak

No new cases of cholera have been reported this week.
But the NICD is urging people to continue taking preventative action.
It says communities with broken and poor infrastructure are more exposed to outbreaks.
Eleven cases have been recorded in Gauteng so far.
“It’s only the untreated water from rivers and other sources like that that that pose a greater threat for many other infections, even outside cholera,” said the NICD’s Dr Phuti Sekwadi.
