Introduction
The Change and Release Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of changes and releases to all relevant ICT Services, with responsibility for the cross-technology domain, change, release and environment management process as well as integrated process design, optimisation and policy.

Ensure that resource requirements are available during core hours and that standby support is available out of hours
Delivering business messages professionally to the appropriate staff when required
Negotiating the downtime for core ICT Services with senior business management to ensure minimal disruption to service delivery
Working with the Service Delivery Manager with the creation of SLA’s in regard to change and release management policy
Creating, owning and ensuring the maintenance of any associated release or change documentation and processes, including negotiating agreement for these with senior business representatives
Chairing regular team meetings with direct reports to address any concerns and provide business updates
Creating detailed team and management SMART objectives, ensuring that the appropriate measures are in place to reinforce this and that this aligns with the company’s vision.
Ensuring that the appropriate governance is in place to provide successful delivery of all ICT Changes
Be available to manage situations in the event escalation is required following ICT changes or releases
Provide the relevant management information relating to all changes and releases, including detailed trend analysis to show performance
To engage in continuous service improvement initiatives in order to deliver a more effective, consistent service to the business
Follow the relevant HR processes to manage and optimise team performance
Hold regular change and release performance reviews with business and ICT areas to discuss areas of success and areas of concern.
Completing the relevant minutes to track any actions and feedback
Work with the incident manager and incident management processes to recover services as quickly as possible in the event of a failed, service affecting change
Arrange for regular audits of non-production environments are fit for purpose
Define, document and maintain full roles and responsibilities for Change and Release disciplines
Implement KPI metrics for measuring overall and individual success rates, and provide reports based on output
Provide detailed metrics on throughput for both Change and Release departments
Challenging ICT and business areas during planning to ensure the best possible agreement is reached and the appropriate plans are in place for smooth delivery and deployment
Chair CAB and ECAB meetings as and when required
Undertake any relevant tasks, determined required by the Testing Business Manager

Requirements

Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements:
Grade 12
Information Technology Infrastructure Library
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
2-6 years of previous release and/or project management experience, (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred)
8-10 years of experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development
Formal training in project management practices preferred
Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must
General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office expert level knowledge of Excel, working Knowledge of Access
