Caster Semenya’s WhatsApp hacked prior to 800m win

Olympic champion Caster Semenya revealed prior to her 800m race in Doha that her WhatsApp had been hacked.

Semenya took to her Facebook Page to explain the situation, writing: “My WhatsApp has been hacked. If you happen to get/receive a message from me requesting for money. Please do not send any money to anyone.”

On Friday, Semenya won the 800m race at the opening leg of the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Doha, which was her first race since losing her appeal over a controversial gender ruling.

The win for Semenya could be her last over 800m ahead of new IAAF rules governing testosterone levels coming into operation on May 8.

The 28-year-old will have to take medication to reduce her testosterone level if she is to continue competing at 800m.

Semenya can appeal the CAS’ decision at a Swiss tribunal within 30 days.
