Police on the scene of a cash-in-transit heist in Esselen Park
Police are on the scene of a cash-in-transit heist in Esselen Park, near Tembisa, on Wednesday morning.
According to reports on the ground, explosives were used to blow up the van, with shooting also reported.
As a result, the main road between New Road and Sam Molele Drive in Liliba Section has been closed.
Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) spokesperson Marie Mashisi said, “We urge motorists to use the alternative route, which is Link Road towards Esselen Park, just before the Tembisa Licensing Department. EMPD officers are on scene assisting to divert the traffic.”
