RIP: Memorial for 11 pupils who died in Carletonville crash to be held on Tuesday

Preparations are underway for the memorial service of 11 pupils who died in a horror crash in Carletonville last week.

The joint service will be held at the Grace Bible Church in the area on Tuesday.

The children, along with their scholar transport driver, were killed when the minibus taxi they were travelling in was hit from behind by a bakkie.

The driver of the bakkie is under police surveillance while he recovers in hospital.

Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chilone will be attending the memorial service in support of the affected families.

“As you will recall, the tragic accident occurred in the Kokosi-Wedela area in Merafong, resulting in the loss of 11 learners and their driver,” said spokesperson Steve Mabona.
