5 people die in car accident near Adelaide in the Eastern Cape
Five people have died after the driver lost control of the vehicle they were traveling in overturned on the R63 road at Bedford near Adelaide in the Eastern Cape.
According to the Eastern Cape Transport Department, two others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Bedford Provincial Hospital on Saturday evening.
The department said that the vehicle was traveling from Adelaide towards Bedford and was carrying seven passengers, including a seven-year-old child.
“Yes, we can confirm the death of these five people in that horrible accident that happened on the R63 just outside Bedford. It’s not yet clear if they are members of the same family or not,” said provincial transport spokesperson, Unathi Binqose.
