Jacob Zuma ‘co-operating with state capture inquiry’

Former president Jacob Zuma insists he is co-operating with the commission of inquiry into state capture.

Zuma is considering a request from Deputy Chief Justice, Raymond Zondo, to respond to allegations against him.

He’s been asked to submit an affidavit, giving his version of the claims made by former government spokesperson, Themba Maseko, and ex-ANC MP, Vytjie Mentor.

Zuma’s lawyers say the former president had decided he wouldn’t apply to cross-examine witnesses who may implicate him.

Meanwhile, Duduzane Zuma has been given the go-ahead to cross-examine former deputy finance minister Mcebisi Jonas.

Jonas accuses him of being involved when the Guptas tried to bribe him to accept the position of finance minister.

The Guptas, however, will not be allowed to cross-examine anyone, if they don’t testify in South Africa.
