Cape Town woman charged with assault of 5-year-old
The case against 22-year-old Asanda Makaluza will return to court next Friday for a formal bail application.
Mkaluza made a brief appearance at the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s court in Cape Town on Friday.
She is accused of assaulting a five-year-old with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after she allegedly poured hot water on the child.
The family of the victim says while they are happy that justice will finally take place, they’re however, disappointed with the police for failing to arrest Makaluza when the case was initially reported on 24 June.
