Cape Town refugees fear arrests

Refugees living on Green Market Square in the Cape Town CBD say they are now reluctant to attend the status verification process as ordered by the court.
Some of them have been arrested.
The Maitland Police Station confirmed some refugees were being held in cells over immigration matters.
On Wednesday hundreds were served with court orders informing them of the city’s right to implement its bylaws.
It’s still unclear where the refugees will go next week when the City of Cape Town implements its bylaws.
