Cape Town police investigating case of attempted murder after minibus taxi shooting

Police are investigating three cases of attempted murder, following a shooting in Somerset West.

The gun attack happened on the corner of the N2 and Victoria Street on Sunday.

The Police’s Wesley Twigg:

“According to reports, a minibus taxi was standing at the red traffic light when an unknown man opened the sliding door of the taxi, talked to a woman in the taxi, and then pulled out a firearm, shot the woman and another male before turning the firearm on himself.”

Twigg said the victims were rushed to a medical facility for treatment.

No arrests have yet been made.
