Grade 1 Cape Town learner ran over by car has died

A grade 1 pupil from Westpoort Primary School in Mitchells Plain died after being knocked over by a private scholar transport vehicle.

The incident happened after school on Thursday.

The Western Cape Education Department said the child reportedly ran over the road.

Psychologists have been deployed to the school to assist with counselling.
