Shoprite and Checkers recall batch of Cape Point tuna cans

Shoprite and Checkers have recalled a batch of canned tuna from its shelves.

The retailer says the Cape Point light meat shredded tuna in water, may have defective cans.

The company says no complaints have been received yet, but it’s doing the recall as a precaution.

You can check if your tin of tuna has been affected by looking at the code on the bottom of the tin — the affected cans’ code is EEJCK BPHGS01.

The cans were produced on the 23rd of July 2021.

Shoprite Checkers says you can return the affected cans to your nearest store for a full refund.
