Calls for schools to be shut down

The Public Servants Association has also added its voice to concerns that schools opened prematurely. Several schools around the country had to close their doors after teachers and pupils tested positive for COVID-19.
However, Basic Education spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga believes schools should remain open, which is consistent with President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement for more sectors to open.
