Calls for COVID-19 grant to be made permanent

Some six million recipients still haven’t received their R350 COVID-19 relief grants for March. Thousands flocked to the post office, hoping to get the payouts for April.

The grant was extended to April following an announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa. Many recipients now say the grant should be permanent.
